About the Event

Lagoon Creek Weed-Free Working Bee with Plant ID is an upcoming ecological restoration event aimed at restoring natural areas and educating participants about local native plant species and their ecological and environmental roles.

The event will feature a hands-on working restoration activity where attendees will help remove invasive weeds from Lagoon Creek, contributing to the restoration of its ecosystem.

Following the working bee, participants will be guided through a native plant walk led by Anne Pennington from Native Plants of Queensland Caboolture Branch. Anne also works in the conservation industry as a trainer, supervisor, and project manager at Reclink Landcare.

During the workshop, attendees will learn about various local native plant species, their importance in maintaining biodiversity, and how to identify them.    Overall, the event aims to engage the community in conservation efforts, promote awareness about the significance of native plants, and empower individuals to contribute to the health and resilience of local ecosystems.
